I believe the original Lexus LS460 battery was made by Panasonic.

I have a 08 LS 460 and went with a Interstate MTP-24. 30 month free replacement. 6 year warranty. Fits perfect. Only have had about a month so I'll share if any issues should arise.

To address your original topic: Panasonic. And NO, no better option, although I don't believe the original Panasonic is even a replacement option. Life: say 5 years ± 1 year. Maybe in the case of the LS, since it has some much electronal gobblie goo, 4 years ± 1 year.

I've used EverStart from Walmart (group # 24, lasted 42 months), and Interstate battery from Costco (fit # 22, group # 24).
They fit in the battery tray, but are maybe 1/8" taller than OEM battery.

If you need a larger battery due to extra audio equipment being installed where you will have an increased draw or long periods of use without the engine running or that go for Optima. No real need for them in a stock car. Any battery reputable brand that meets the spec of the factory battery will be fine

As an electrical engineer, the two things I look for is the manufacture date, the "freshest" battery wins, and the CCA. I ignore group numbers and go strictly with what is the highest CCA that will fit.
