Default LS460 brake actuator part number, final answer.

I have done a lot of searching these forums and I have found 4 part numbers for my brake actuator can someone please help me out which one am I supposed to get? Some say the 600 brake actuator, there is a new and old one for that. Is there an aftermarket one? Can i use one from another toyota? I believe the last owner replaced it with a junkyard part as it failed again. Very scary as if I do not fill the brake fluid every few days my brakes will stop working. I want the one that won't break again whatever cost!

Unfortunately my car is not, which is the reason I'm asking. It is over 10 years old so the warranty is not available. As far as I know the last owner also replaced the actuator (with a junkyard part), so I don't believe this models VIN was listed under the recall TSB.

Call Lexus corporate and fight for it, it never hurts to try a couple times before shelling out all that money. This is a safety issue and a very expensive repair, they should not be cutting off or denying this repair to customers.

Thanks for the concern fellas. Unfortunately the reality is that corporate will do whatever they can to avoid dealing with stuff like this. They are not lenient about it. After 10 years or 140000 miles these recalls are no longer available for service. If the part fails within this time span it is considered defective, but if it fails after its just considered normal high mileage maintenance. There are technicalities, I know if I bought the car CPO I could've gotten the recall serviced, also if I signed up by a specific date I could've made the extended recall only thing is that specific date was while it was sitting in the last owners garage like a month before I bought it.

THANK YOU. I moved at the beginning of this month otherwise I would've been on here to thank you sooner.
I found the part cheaper than anywhere else (still $1000) on discountpartsmonster, installed no issues.

How many labor hours did installation take?

there are few actuators on the market, I think there are 5 if I recall correctly ; mine was making noise the brake bleed fixed the issue, it still clicks here and there very lightly but its not as noisy as before and I think all LS460s do it. My lexus dealer wanted 3200 for it installed included when I was almost gone change it. with the latest part. They refused to put in any new (older version) of the actuator. I still have 3 years and 35k miles to go for lexus 10 year 150k warranty if it fails so though why not wait. I think the labor is about 1.5 hrs.

Not a safety recall.

it was a warranty extension.

i think we all should just assume this is like a timing belt.

Lets assume 8-10 year life span 80-100k

$3000. Damn. Good luck all

In Feb of 2016 I had this issue with my '08. Found it quite curious it was a known issue then and not covered AND that original part was not even available because they were all being replaced with LS 600 Actuators (per the parts guy)... no joy, repair was like 4 hrs, part was over $3,000. This year I stumbled across the "Warranty Enhancement Program - ZLG", noticed it stated "Lexus will begin to notify owners in late April, 2016".. well Lexus, I had the repair done 2 months prior, I even called you about this exact thing, where the @$#$@# was my Letter? I called the number, sent copies of my paperwork and within a week I had a check for the repair.. 2 years later, the way it should've been handled back in Feb of '16.

smdh....

The PN used on my '08 LS 460 was "44050-50170 Actuator Assy, BR"

As I work in the industry (and asked for it) I was able to get jobber rate and that knocked nearly $1K off the cost of the part. YMMV...

My brake actuated failed and the dealer took care of it. I contacted corporate and they fixed the car no charge.

This was on my 07 with 100k plus miles at the time it failed.
