I may have missed it, but what year is your 460? You say initial estimate for repair is 11k, but the general rule is that if repairs meet or exceed 75% of value, the insurance company will consider the car totaled.

So the car is a 2011 with highway miles. The jeep didn't have any damage. .. Maybe a scratch on the aftermarket push bumper. The value they came up with is 17k with my miles. I don't want this car fixed for someone else to drive this thing... No telling what other problems may arise. So my main option is to get a check and sell it for scrap or salvage. It has a clean title because it's repairable.

If I understand correctly, are you considering accepting a check for $11K from the insurance company, and selling the car to a scrap yard? Do you expect to get 5-6K for it? If you get more, then you are really coming out on top, with an appraised value of 17K for the undamaged car. If the car were fixed, with diminished value, it may not be worth more than 12-13K, but I have read you could get a separate check for diminished value (17-13K) from your insurance company.

Oh no. I don't expect to get 5 k from the salvage. I just want to get it gone. I. Don't have crazy ambitions just want to get the car off the road.

Thanks I had read it. But back to the main issue. I do t want this to be someone's else's problem. The have even priced out 2 harnesses in the trunk. I am hoping that the body shop I use will look deeper to make sure everything is checked. That way I know what almost everything that will be wrong in the rear....

Update 1 car is at my preferred body shop for further tear down and Inspection. They have found a few more things and are putting together a second supplemental estimate.
Just to be clear I am not interested in fixing the car at this point, just trying to make sure I have all damage noted with the insurance.

Update 2
So after talking to the insurance company we did more digging. My car fax Had 1 non vehicle accident reported on it. Hit a curb Passenger side which i new about. What I didn't know know was USAA or carfax never coded the accident right of an over site on both parties. Well that accident was 13k tore up the under side of vehicle from what I was told. I looked a few times before I can never remember seeing that much damage when it looked it over. Brings me to this point car is gone sold to copart. Between the insurance check and what copart paid me for the car I came out almost exactly what I paid for the car when I purchased it.
I cant complain one bit and wanted to let you guys who responded and gave me advise and your stories an update to my situation. I without a car this weekend because i'm ocd when it comes to my cars. I want to have a good clean running car that I check over myself. ( being a auto tech has done that to me).

Wow.. I'm glad you're safe, man.
My brother got rear ended by a jeep as well a year ago and his Sonata Hybrid was totaled as the whole rear was pushed into nearly the back seat area.
