2013 LS460 DIY ATF Change failed
assuming you’re having same issue? I just confirmed mine starts at 35mph 1200rpm.
my Indy is a buddy of mine, so I’m going to make sure he takes his time & does a through job.
i only have 88k miles, so this is unexpected & quite frankly unacceptable for a flagship!

Hey XF40SPORT, Bummer on the Toyota Dealer not wanting to do your transmission service. I also have the low RPM shudder on my 2007 LS460 and the Lexus here in the SF Bay Area scheduled me for a transmission service for this upcoming Friday. Scheduler quoted me a starting price of $157, but subject to service advisor guidance. Will let folks know if it resolved the shudder.
Also, ask them what exactly they’ll be doing. If they’re only doing 1 drain & fill, based on research, I doubt it’ll be enough to clean out the dirty fluid.
Yes it just started a few weeks ago...
You need to make totally certain they are using the right fluid and are replacing the filter. The shudder is likely converter slip not being correct from old fluid, 88k miles is about 25k past where I like changing any modern type trans to prevent issues......older tech stuff I like to change at 20-30k or if the car is driven really hard.

Please advise outcome after service. $157 starting is super cheap, but I would expect a much higher price tag considering the price for the ATF.

Please update on what the service dept comes back w/.
I'm taking my car in tomorrow morning. Going to drop the pan, change filter & gasket & do 3 drain and fills.
Hopefully this resolves the shudder.

Crossing fingers for both you and I. I was thinking if the transmission pan is dropped, don't we just need the service tech to re-fill. Would additional drain and fills be necessary? Thanks, Jeff
Draining will only release about 3-3.5 qts. The rest of the fluid remains in the transmission, therefore, you have to cycle through the gears after every drain and fill to get the old fluid out.
XF40FSPORT It's back from the dealer the shutter is 99% gone I went about 38 mph at 1000 rpm up a hill and I had very very minor shuttering. This was my second trans fluid change. I asked that the trans sit for a few hours to cool off, then have them do the fluid change. I grabbed part numbers for the gasket, filter and O-ring. These have yet to be replaced, i will order them when I do my final of the 3 trans fluid changes. Feel free to ask me anything else..
