Issue is many of us bought the LS because it isn't as sporty as the GS lol
Maybe some want the LS a little more sportier though, like try to split the difference between a GS and LS. I like the 4th Gen GS because of its sporty handling and feeling of lightness but wish it could be a little smoother for highway trips but I also like the LS because of its smoother ride but wish it handled a little better and was more confident in the corners, if I get an LS I think eventually I may want to make the handling just a little better with more aggressive tires and maybe sway bar bushings and hopefully not effect the ride too much.
My 2nd Gen GS had a nice smooth ride but was not very good in the corners and a bit floaty for a "sports sedan"(not really sporty at all) so I put in stiffer front and rear sway bar bushings and used ultra high performance all seasons when it was time for new tires which gave me more of the ride/feeling I wanted, it did not transform the car into a sports sedan but the handling was more acceptable to me for such a small investment.
What is it about the stock rear rim/tire width? Is it too thin/thick, is there a complication of it when switching to coil overs?
8 inches and 245 width tires feels nothing like the 10.5 and 285s i have now. There jus isn’t enough contact patch if you like to drive aggressively. Even the new LS500 F sport runs 9.5 and 275 width.
Well your probably no where my size (so what do you know about trying to fit in both cars) but since you have the most Lexus vehicles in your signature go ahead and have the last word. Make sure it’s about coilovers...
I'm 37 years old LOL. No pension here, I just bought an LS because I wanted an LS.
I see no point in buying one car that has a certain set of attributes and changing it to make it drive like a different car that has a different set of attributes. I've had the GS and I've had the LS, if I wanted the GS sporty ride I would have kept the GS. They're not that different in terms of size, and the real difference is in the rear seat.
Since you had both what was the difference in insurance? Was the 4th gen GS more because it is sporty or the LS more because it is more expensive and has a V8?

The LS is a little bit more expensive, but not a whole lot. Maybe $100 a year or so...
