Default "Settling" noise is un-settling

So I think I may need to get my control arms inspected but want input & advice please. 2010 460L with 82k miles- I bought it just over a year ago with 70k miles. I used to hear a noise occasionally over the driver front wheel when turning left. Now I'm hearing it more frequently and even hearing it when sitting still (and car off). It definitely sounds as if the car is "settling" and I have to assume this is something associated with a control arm (or maybe a bushing or ball joint???) It isn't a "pop", it isn't a "crack" - I don't know how to describe the sound. It's definitely got a sound like it's coming from something metal and it only occurs at/near the driver side front wheel. Is this the beginning sound of the failure of the control arm due to the weight of the car? Thanks all,

I just got my 2015 out of the shop yesterday for my 35,000 mile service, and I told them to check under my car because I to was hearing a pop, crack or something when I turned left. The technician said this was a common complaint as the protective shields under the car would become loose, and they just needed tightening. ?. I don't know but I haven't heard it since I picked the car up. So mention this to your service department next time you carry it in. Hope that's what it is. Good Luck

I'm experiencing a clunk sound on occasion when sitting down into the car, especially if I don't take care and just drop my weight (185lbs) into it. It's not every time, no noises/issues while driving, so not sure what it could be. 2010 L AWD @107K

Is that when you hear the sound on yours while sitting still? Or is it after you've parked and exited that it's still making sounds?
