2010 LS 460L Dash Bezel (trim)
Ok guys - I thought I was good at finding parts - here is a challenge for someone. I have a 2010 LS 460L with a nav display. Below the temperature LED readout is a trim piece just above the climate control buttons. I need to replace that simple one piece or at least remove it to refurbish it. Damn this is hard to locate the name of this piece much less, buy it. Any help would be appreciated.
This is the part 2010 Lexus LS 460L trim?

Unfortunately you can’t just buy that one piece. I had the same issue on the top part of the trim on my 2011 LS460. I ended up painting it.

That’s great news! When I sanded mine, it became on off white. I’m assuming the plastic was originally painted with a nickel type paint. Can you post a picture? Are you now going to keep it as is?

Strange - but certainly better than what I had - see original picture at the top of this tread.

All I used was 91% isopropyl alcohol. I was using it to clean the surface before painting it. The existing paint started to come on when I rubbed it. Note - it wasn't easy - I used a microfiber cloth and kept it wet with the alcohol. I might color it later but the spray paint is a pain in the ***. You have to really tape off everything.
The gray doesn't match but I think the previous owner was a woman had long nails. She scratch the hell up the bezel operating the A/C vent controls (I am speculating.)
The finish is very smooth underneath so they might have used a primer of sorts. It appeared to be a 3 layer system - white primer, silver, then the nickle top coat.

It looks great! Thanks for the picture. I would leave it as is.

It should take about 20 min. You could use something stronger - but I don't suggest it. I used 91% which is very strong. DO NOT GET it on any other leather. Put some on it and let it set - several times. No need to repaint - it matches well with the radio *****.... I wouldn't use a grinder or sandpaper either. I used a microfiber cloth and it polished well. The edges are a little tough. (Paint stripper might work well too.)
Be very careful of the anti-glare screen on the temp display system. I put tape on it and pulled the anti-glare off....not a big deal and it actually looks better - but the sunlight makes it hard to see sometimes...I am sure I could fix that as well. I think I can use one of those magic erasers for cleaning - it make a great micro sanding tool.
I am learning as I go - but you can fix anything with a little, time, tools, and the internet.
