mine was holding on pretty good for years. then when i had my roof painted black, the sander they were using took off the left side wrap. because it was their fault, they painted it free of charge...
I just went to my buddies shop and we went through the all day removal of the factory wrap. I do not know why Lexus did it, I think it looks great without it.
I'm going to have to bring mine by a body shop... about 2 foot on both sides it of the front came off but, how the heck do you get the rest of it off ?
I've heard it would be fairly cheap to have someone just remove it all and polish it off..
It's probably $200 to have a local shop wrap those pieces, might be worth considering if you don't like the thought of removing all the wrap and going with the chrome.
Take a look on YouTube of vinyl wrapping roofs. Many of them take off the roof drip molding so you can see. Requires something like a credit card to get under the molding and sliding off the roof clips.
