HELP Buying Front Rotors?
HI again, as the 07 460 has a slight shudder when first applying the brakes I assume the rotors need truing or replacing.
Can you all tell me what manufacturer and from whom you recommend buying them from?
It has 104,000 miles and I drive like an old lady so whatever good but not expensive fantastic rotors?
Also, same questions about buying a set of front brake pads, might as well replace those too.
thanks again everyone, I love this forum!

Asking this question on a forum is probably a close second to which type of oil do you use in the variance of opinion you're going to get. So I can make some suggestions based on what I've used on numerous vehicles but the reality is there are many good brands of brake parts that will serve you well. Most will agree that you should take a step up from the auto store no-name junk and get into what could be called the mid-tier products. While you may think you're not a performance driver, the quality of parts varies significantly and you may run into wear, noise or performance issues with sub-standard equipment. With all of that being said rotors from Centric, Stoptech, and EBC are all very good and moderately priced. Pads from EBC and Akebono have applications for street use and will work well. If your car is running the original rotors at 104k I'd probably go ahead and change everything out to start fresh. That isn't to say you can't "turn" the rotors but I think they've earned their place in used part heaven. Be sure you lubricate all relevant parts and do the bed in procedure when replacing any brake part. Most owners (and shops) omit this very important step which can lead to noise and sub-standard performance. Google brake "bed in" procedure and you'll find all you care to know about it. A good set of F & R pads and rotors will run you $450-500 from reputable online retailers (DIY). Good luck!
This.
MANY of us here went with those and are very happy. I've had mine for over two years and about 40k miles and the shudder never returned. Combined with their pads, my braking is as it always should have been - quiet, smooth, linear and no more jerkiness/grabiness.
