what button is missing? 2014 LS 460 AWD
1. what button is missing on the left hand side
2. How can you tell if a car has the Pre-Collision System with Driver Attention Monitor and Collision Avoidance Assist
3. Is auto start an option, if so, how can it be installed after market?
TIA

Pole Position
1) Left button: Auto high beam in my car. In hybrid, it is the EV button
2) With advanced pre-collision system and driver attention monitor, you will see two openings for stereo cameras on windshield behind rear view mirror, and see an infrared device attached to top of steering column that blocks the odometer on dashboard display.

3) By auto start, do you mean remote start? That is available on 2015+ cars as a feature within Lexus Enform (subscription needed). You can install a remote start on any MY either through Lexus dealer or 3rd party like Best Buy.

Yup, 07-12's (10-12 for sure anyway) has an 'ECO' button where you see that blank. I've noticed the 13-17's don't have this when shopping around as I'm pretty sure they moved it to the center console.

On the '13-'17 models, it is the auto headlights button.

Correct, auto headlamp button.
If the car has PCS/Radar cruise there will be a distance button on the right side of the steering wheel under the phone and voice command buttons.
No PCS/Radar Cruise:

PCS/Radar Cruise/Lane Keep Assist:

Typically in order to have the auto high beams you need the LED headlights. My 2015 had a blank there with HIDs, and my 2017 has the auto button with LEDs.

EDIT: Well, I'll be...maybe they are LED headlights. This is the first time I've ever noticed LED headlights and SmartBeam being mentioned in the 2013 LS brochure and press release (attached).

Do you notice a difference in illumination between HIDs vs LEDs, Steve? I always thought the light cutoff was very sharp on our 2013, but they still performed like HIDs to me. I still think our 2006 LS 430 had better headlights in terms of amount of light, throw, and spread, but after almost a year of ownership I never thought our 2013 LS had anything other than HIDs. If ours are LEDs, as Dolph1 suggests, then they're not too bad as I couldn't tell the difference between them and HIDs. I recall reading in MDX forums that the Acura LED headlights looked better but did not perform as well as HIDs.

You have the LEDs. Having had the LED and HID, jury Is still out. The beam pattern of the HIDs is wider, but the LEDs are brighter. At first I much preferred the HIDs but the LEDs are growing on me.
