Default Is the viper smart start reliable?

Does anyone have the viper smart start with a dball2/3 on there ls460 I was reading reviews on it and people say more than half the time it does not work I wanted to know if any fellow ls460 users have it and have experienced any problems I really like the idea of starting the car with my phone

I have had it for about a year and a half. When i do use it works fine. I also like the locate feature. It was easy to install. Only the activation is a small pain. If you do it yourself. Has to be done by a authorized dealer.

I installed mine 2 weeks ago, used it almost every morning. I got the dball3 and smartstart. I bought it off toby(i think thats his name, was mention in the “remote start diy thread”) once installed he got it activated same day.

Can you tell me how to set it up I’ve heard of people trying it on here and did some real damage because they did it wrong

Just double check your work and youll be fine. I had a few of these connectors from my sub install that made my install alot easier

there were about 5 or 6 wires that you hook up and thats it. What do you mean by set it up? It was just plug a few wires and play. I bought the unit pre-programmed.
