Remote Start LS460 for $221 installed
Read articles here on the DBALL Interface
Went to Best Buy, after getting to the install tech they knew exactly what I was talking about (the store sales person didn't) I mentioned a Lexus blog says this device could remote start my LS460 with the factory remote. He said, yes-with three clicks of the Lexus remote....all for $221 installed. Appointment in Feb 2014. Will report then. For additional $150 and monthly subscription of $5-$6 it would work with a iPhone for much linger distances but I don't need that.

$150 sounds too cheap..and its about $65 a yr..so that so that sounds rt...I'd go for it... see if the part is a dsm200 or dsm250 (which adds gps tracking)

So you can hook this up and remote start your vehicle? Do you need to install a remote start system from lexus too?
From Best buy, I have a Viper Alarm/remote start on my 07 F-250. On my iPhone I have an App that I can use to Start/Unlock/Lock/GPS and I paid about 65.00 a yr for, you get a discount for buying 3 yrs, that's what I did.

I was quoted 3-4 hundred dollars from one place and 450 from another for just the remote start that uses my Lexus FOB by pressing the unlock button three times. I may have to go see Best Buy cuz THAT is cheap!

I was told you need this cable and DB-ALL - Databus All Interface Module.

No, just need this device. Not sure how it works but wasn't told I needed anything else.

That must be the missing link...so to speak. Best Buy must be including this with the installation. Product description states:
"Nothing is easier or faster, with the TLTH1 you can now shave hours off your installation of a remote starter. The easy to use T-harness allows for plug and play installations in certain model Push-to-Start Toyota/Lexus vehicles. Simply plug in the TLTH1 T-harness at the OBD connector and one wire at the vehicle and you're done. It's that easy! With the help of the configuring tool available online you can select an RF kit of your choice to enable standalone remote start (RSR).

sorry to disappoint there is no T-harness available for our cars... the TLTH1 is a toyota harness that works for a very limited few toyota cars.. AND ITS NOT PLUG AND PLAY the TLTH1 only gets power, ground and the can hi and can lo signal for the car.. that works fine for door trigger, locks but other than that its useless... (takes 5 minutes off the install time of a remote start alarm...)
still need an installer (so i still have a job for the time being).. but for the LS all u need is the db-all proper firmware and the knowledge to install it... ( i do them in about 30 mins nowadays)
however for most cars on the market you still need a full blown alarm w remote start..to do remote start..but more and more cars are digital in nature so a bypass module is all thats needed (fyi most chysler, dodge, jeeps have been able to do so since 05)
and viper being ahead of the curve is always working towards a safer more reliable install

So my installer will just use the DB ALL? What firmware is bing updated, the DB ALL? Their website does highly recommend Professional installer.

Shibumi1,
At Best Buy, the guy I deal with is a good kid. He is a certified Master Installer and about 26 yrs old
Any tips I need to tell him to help him with the install? He try's hard to do a really good job.
Can you share some tribal knowledge to help him with the install on my 14 LS 460.
Young man..lol at Best Buy said he was going to use the TLTH1 because it would be less wires to tap into just in case I have warrant y issues?

Under "download manual" the 401TL.3 seems to be for our cars. I saw that system a while back and have been meaning to get with a local installer but im short on time these days. Maybe I'll take that 3 hour ride north and get with Shibumi and have him hook me up.
