I wrecked my 2007 LS460L
Our local Lexus dealer doesn’t do bodywork, but has an office of an independent body shop on its premises. They coordinate together when the car needs both repairs and bodywork. I’ve found that very convenient.
Yeah, it's going to be this way for a while...
Fender is $400, bumper cover is another $550, IIRC. The cover has been repainted in the past, unbeknownst to me, and shops just don't want to fix these. I can see why, because it's flexible, so any kind of patching material is likely going to pop right off when nearby areas are flexed.
The fender is fixable, but where it meets the bumper cover, there's a hole. Also, then we're talking Bondo, long-term durability, and I'd rather have a filler-less car. That's just one reason I'm not having any of the light hail damage fixed.
The main reason is, without laying out big money, there's no way a body shop is going to replicate the wet-sanded, perfect for mass production, paint.
At least I didn't catch the headlamp housing. Erk!
That $3K number is from two different shops...still have a third, which _should_ come in a bit lower, but one thing I do not want is a silver fender which doesn't match. I'd rather have this damage, indefinitely.

Well, they just called today and said the Car is totaled. DAMN !!!! after the payout, I can buy the car back for 900 Bucks but, I don't want to see it again. I'm just sick. The first estimate was for 4800, then, they said they found more damage to the cradle, then, today they said the wiring harness was about 5 Grand. OH Well, life goes on. I won't buy another Lexus after this. Did I mention that I'm SICK !!!
I don't want to chase the ambulance, but, ummmm...what wheels were on it?
Was it an "L"?
Won't buy another Lexus? Because of this? Give it a bit. The 460 is tough to beat for luxury/performance/price/quality.

I had the 19 inch 5 spoke Touring L model. Why you gotta rub it in?
Oh, no! Quite the contrary...I have the same car, 2008 5-spoke touring L. It's an unusual combo, logically at least, but I love it.
No, I was wondering where it was going. I need wheels and more importantly, the underbody plastic shields which fill in the extra length between the larger front and rear shields because of the LWB.
I really want the shields...like really. Could get away with one, maybe two wheels, though I'd love to have an entire set to polish (please don't tell me they were chromed).
