Default Brake master abs pump fail

We have an 2010 ls460 the abs pump motor burned out and failed. The LS is a US car that I shipped overseas, so the local dealer warranty will not cover these repairs on the abs.

My question is to anyone who has replaced this motor, did you also replace the abs module? Is it required to replace both the pump and the module at once? I dont want to fix one and have the other fail. The independent mechanic said its best to replace both at the same time, since each are very costly can I get away with just replacing one?
