Default Replacement engine won't stay running

Bought a 2007 LS460 with no key and blown headgasket (coolant mixed with oil). Had locksmith make and program a new key, got the old motor started and drove the car into the shop to replace the engine. Bought a used engine from a salvage yard in Florida, had it shipped to me in Dallas, TX. Swapped the engine, still using the original computer that came with the car, when the engine is cold it stays running but as soon as I press the accelerator it dies. If I don't press the accelerator and let it run on its own, once the engine warms up, the car stalls out, go to start it, engine starts up and stalls out right after, it will not stay running nor any response from accelerator. I have searched and searched and just come up to a dead end......no fault codes either....am I missing something here? Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks

You need it connected to a diagnostic computer so you can see the values from the sensors.

What you are experiencing may be due to abnormal engine sounds/vibrations. Many modern computer-controlled engines are designed to retard or shutdown when abnormal sounds and/or vibrations are detected. Be sure you have enough oil and the right kind of oil and be sure that you have the coolant system filled.

Another thing to check is the exhaust system - be sure that it is not obstructed.

Can I ask what you paid for the engine, its condition (miles, compression test etc,) and how much you paid for labor?

I bought the longblock from a salvage yard out in Florida and had them ship it to me here in Dallas TX.....total cost for engine and shipping was $1325....I replaced the engine myself

found the motor on www.car-part.com

Wow, you might just be the new DIY king, (Sorry Roadfrog)

Mind sharing what the total investment was and was it worth it vs getting one running ?

Well I bought this car from a dealer auction (I buy and sell cars)......in my opinion I have too much money invested in this thing than what its worth....picked the car up with no key.....after having a key made come to find out, the engine is blown, now got the engine running, and turns out no sound from the headunit, brake pad sensors are there but still get error for worn brake pads......to me its junk, im about to take it back to the auction and get rid of it, im in the position of taking a loss on it....

I just did my brakes and its only the passenger side that has sensors

Swap in new pads and new sensors and that should cure the warning light

djkraiz - I'd like to hear that you keep it and it running like a top. But, you know your situation. Best of luck either way.
