Really appreciate the feedback and pics, it finally started crumbling off after the snow and ice hit it. After a lot of hair-dryer and isopropyl Q-tip action, it will definitely do for now. Worst part is getting that adhesive gunk off, at least on the higher parts that were still fully wrapped on tight. Used a kitchen knife to create a border at the end of the windshield where I planned to stop lol.
I'm sure sooner or later I'll decide to get the rest of it off...

Gah...I gotta do this sometime soon. Mine is only doing it in two small spots beside the windshield, but it drives me nuts every time I wash the car having to look at it.

just peel it off slowly with a hairdryer and a guitar pick bro.
