Default Has your air suspension failed?

Just curious, everybody is talking about failing air suspension. Most of you don't want it because of the costs if it fails.
Did your air suspension fail?
My car has 125.000 miles on it and the original air suspension is working fine (including the ASC680)

Currently at 91K (2010 L AWD) on the stock air struts and just installed an ASC680.

Definitely curious to see the outcome of this poll

I'm at about 45 000 miles and mine is fine except for the fact that it changes the ride height all the time

What is the ASC680? Is that the air compressor? It never occurred to me that air struts would be good but problems would arise with the compressor component. Makes sense now though. How much is it to replace an ASC680? Also, what are the symptoms to look for? Thank you.

Air suspension controller to manually adjust the height of the vehicle....

Front space at work was open after lunch today so I put her in LOW mode :P

I won't do this often, but hadn't done it yet and wanted to see just how low it goes. Not going to give SUPER LOW a try.

Here she is lowered just a touch for daily duties, 27.5" (ground to fender through the center) all the way around

Oh, I see now, it's a separate aftermarket device. I thought it was an OEM part to worry about.

I almost never saw 460s in our area but after purchasing ours I now noticed 3-4 07-12 models around the neighborhood. I pass by a 10-12 every morning as it's parked outside on someone's driveway. It's a silver L and a real looker.

The rear air ride shocks were changed at ~ 47K miles and the front air ride shocks were changed at ~58K miles on my 2008 LS600hL. No problems since then, and I now have 83K miles on the car...

Have been complaining about the thumping of the control arms in front for a bit (car had around 60000 miles at the time). I think the service manager at my dealer was fed up of hearing me complaint every time and decided to change everything except for the height sensors. Don't know for sure if the suspension was ok or not, but who's gonna ask?...

After that, height issues in the front... so here I go *****ing again... they replace all but the faulty one (which was the leg that was up all the time). Finally changed the culprit last spring...

Did you take it in for suspension issues or was it a case of the tech telling you "they're on the way out and should be replaced" and you decided to do it?

I have 105K on mine, all is well, and I use the "Height High" button at least twice a day.

The extra 3/4" makes a world of difference getting in/out. I have broken too many bones in my life.

Default After rear airsuspension change, found out how to reduce klonking noise in the front

Hi guys.
i have followed treads here for many years, but never posted, because i am terrible at this.

i can maybe help others with this information, so here i try.

after changing my rear airsuspension, i had to run the car 10-20 min on the high level, to get it of my lift.
after this i turned it to normal ride hight, and drove the car some days.
the car was a bit bouncing, like the dampers where not really working.

i switched the car to Comfort mode, and now it rides again like a dream.

and here is the kicker:
i have like many others the klonking sound from the front, when i drive on bumpy roads or hit hight different.
i have tried to change the brake plates and springs, like one guy informed about, with not much difference, but clerly god observation, as the brakepads can move a bit, and create some noise.

but after i switched to Comfort mode, my klonking noise is reduced, by 80-90%!

i normally only use the standard mode.

i think the anoining noice might come from inside the front struts, where they are damper-adjudtable, and this might have a clearance issue, that we cant really se or measure.

hope you can try this Comfort or Sport mode adjustment, and give feedback about ot helps you also.
