Default Passenger seat heater/cool making clicking noise

My passenger side seat has been making a weird clicking sound. I finally narrowed it down to the heating cooling. It makes the sound like when you turn on the heating switch. Also, when I actually turn on, everytime the clicking goes on and off, the light for the heating/cooling goes on and off, indicating that it's not working. I took to dealer and they said it will cost $1300 to replace some unit under the seat. That is just too much for something I use a couple times/month. Also, I just had the car in for a fuel pump failure, and that cost $1900 already. This LS460 is much more prone to problems than my LS 430 and LS400 combined. Is there any way I can disable this heating/cooling so it stops making the clicking noise. The noise is quite loud; enough that my children in the back seat would ask "what is that annoying sound?" Thanks, everyone.

Does it sounds like a relay click?

From your Public Profile, your car seems to be a 2007 LS460L. These heated seats seem to develop problems as they age. I don't have any knowledge about the seat heaters but I had a 2007 LS460 and am familiar with the controls. The clicking that you hear is probably a protection device being activated because the seat heater circuit has a short. You may be able to get this fixed at an independent Lexus repair shop for much less than the dealer quote. If you just set the control to neutral it may stop clicking. To set it to neutral you would just rotate it to halfway between heat and cool, and then press it in to keep it in that position. That way it would not heat or cool and probably not make the clicking sound. Hope this helps.

It sounds like a relay....but it is actually an "on and off" sound. I will pick up the car tomorrow and hopefully will know more about what they diagnosed. Thank you, Jmcraney for your suggestion. I did put it in neutral (off position), the clicking noise still comes on and off regardless. I will update you what the specific part the dealer quote.

Ok, I received my car back and the dealers said it was the seat heating/cooling ecu that is faulty. It has a loose connection and would be $1300 to replace. They were able to disconnect it, so now there is no more clicking, but no more heating and cooling on that seat. I think I can live with that.

Wow. Those Lexus modules are expensive. However, I've found that you can get them online for about half my dealer's price and if you can find the location and replace it yourself, you could likely save several hundred dollars.
