Default Most comfortable tires for LS460

Hello everyone, I plan on buying a brand new 2017 Lexus LS460 soon. I want to get this car because I want the smoothest riding, most comfortable car possible that isn't an SUV. Because I am looking for the most plush ride possible, what would be the best tires for comfort that you guys would recommend for the LS460? I live in a place with crappy roads, so I want something that's Rolls Royce tier when it comes to soaking up bumps and whatnot on the road. I have heard that the stock tires on the LS460 aren't that great, so I plan on swapping them out shortly after I get the new car. Suggestions anyone?

Plenty of threads on this in here. I'm confident the Pirelli Cinturato P7 Plus are what you're looking for.

i will look into those. i prefer the 18 inch rims as well with a good amount of sidewall on the tires. the tires need to be able to handle going through water and puddles on the highway since i do live in rainy florida.

Thats what I have, no issues with wet traction, even after 30k miles. Will replace these with the same tires no questions asked.

I also have these tires on 18" wheels for about 8 months now and they are VERY SMOOTH & QUIET. Plus my Air Suspension makes it even better

Just replied to a separate tire thread. Had the Pirelli P7+ 245/45/19 installed today and they are noticeably better riding and quieter than the Goodyear RS-A2. I didn't think the Goodyear were that bad for the price that they go for but going back to the P7+ and I can definitely feel a difference. The LS is velvety smooth in its steering response and better composed over bumps. Our 460 was purchased used and came with the Goodyears. I'm staying with the P7+ from here on out (although a part of me IS curious how the Premier A/S performs if Michelin made the tire to fit the 460).

Maybe a little off-topic but does anyone know why "W" rated tires (168mph) invariably cost less than the lower performing "V" rated (149mph) tires?

Can you give an example, Keith? Do the Ws have the same treadlife rating? Any other differences between the two tires other than speed rating? Is the W tire on clearance to get rid of inventory? Are you saying across the board Ws cost less than Vs?

its possible that the Vs are less mass produced than the Ws, so therefore the Vs cost more

If you look at TireRack, the Conti DWS06 is one example, and there are several more. The warranty on the W rated tire is usually less than the V rated tire but I'm not sure why.

Higher speed rated tires have different rubber compounds which reduce treadwear.

I don't think pricing is a question of speed rating, it's more brands and different pricing. Cheaper brands/tires in this instance may simply be higher speed rated.

I have had both Michelins, the Pilot MXM4 and the Primacy MXM4. Both are very quiet up until about 75 mph on good interstate. Then just a little wind enters the cabin. But with the music on we really don't notice it. I tried 28 # for 90 days and that was a little more plush on the highways. But 32-35 feels better around town to me. Personal preference I guess. This is for a 2008 LS 460.

I had the Michelin MXM4s and now have Bridgestone Turanza Serenity tires (18" wheels). I like the ride and noise level ever so slightly better on the Turanzas, but I felt like the Michelins were a quiet, comfortable & smooth riding tire too. They lasted 35k miles.
