So I’m a little confused because when looking for struts to put on my 2008 ls460l most parts websites say that they are not compatible what struts should I buy for the most comfortable ride and to keep the car from dipping to low and scraping the ground. And are the mounts and springs specific to the car or to the struts.

In the process
I currently have my 09 LS 460L at the dealer now converting my are to traditional suspension. However, they can’t get the suspension light off.... This is a problem for me!!
=wayman28;9888120]I have an '09 AWD SWB and have done two of the options on your list. I got a warranty (without knowing I had air suspension issues) and over the course of about two and a half years have replaced all four air shocks through my warranty. I have about 97k miles on the car. One of the shocks had to be replaced twice within two years. I'm totally done with air shocks now. As soon as the next air shock dies I'm converting to traditional shocks.
My question is what hardware do I need to convert an AWD SWB? I've heard I need a Suncore conversion kit but they don't seem to sell one for an AWD. Thanks everyone.[/QUOTE]

I must be the only one on CL that loves air ride suspension. I did replace both OEM fronts for about $2100.00, small price to pay for comfort of this well built car.
imo coil over shocks could never give you the ride like air can. STAY WITH AIR

Done!
I got my car back today! What an ordeal. I was told by the service department that they would get the conversion done and get light off. That didn’t happen! While the conversion was done they took an additional 2 days trying to get the lights off. The called STRUT MASTERS, which they said was not very helpful. They also said the LS 460 is a problem and they don’t be a fix for for the warning lights. I went back and forth with them, I ended up getting about 500.00 off labor because they told me they would not be on. The ride seems good. Looking forward to the weekend so I could really put it on the road. So far all is well and now I have 3 good air shocks/suspension for sale! Front driver shock has failed

Suncore is not a "conversion kit" , they are just a no name, generic shock and spring combo that are rebranded as "suncore conversion". You would of been much better off buying name brand struts and springs , I went with KYB and TANABE
Suncore does not know how to stop the lights from going on , that's why we keep asking if you left the height sensors in place or not, they are supposed to be left on.

I just bought front and back from Suncore to replace my bad air struts on my 2010 460. Their tech support says to leave all sensors in place as if you still had air and the lights will not activate. We shall see tomorrow when I have them installed. I'll report back.

Weeellllllll.... if someone who has converted to KYB coils would report back with their part numbers and experience overall I have a feeling that more would be confident in attempting the conversion without a "kit".
