I think that warranty is a good deal considering the car is already 9 years old, and even though you have a PPI done, it's a car you didn't own all those years.

Worth it or no?
are u sure the CU warranty cover the hybrid battery? They use Route66 and I am certain they don't cover the hybrid battery, they cover the starting battery which is $450...

also, in some cases there is max liability of $3000, which will not cover the control arms

Until you look at all the exclusions, as noted by hfahmy. These warranties usually find a way to make them work for the companies who underwrite them.

Make sure the extended warranty is exclusionary, meaning that everything is covered by default except for specifically excluded items. Look carefully at the excluded items. If the hybrid battery failed, are any of the excluded items necessary for the repair/replacement of the hybrid battery? If so, how much would parts and labor cost you?

Anticipated repair costs should be a factor in the price you are willing to pay for the car. Also, IMO a thorough PPI (pre-purchase inspection) needs to be done by someone experienced with the LS600h. The sales contract you make on the car should be contingent on your acceptance of the PPI and your own visual inspection and road test of the car. Depending on the seller, you can offer to make a refundable deposit (with a credit card) to show you're serious about the car and not wasting the seller's time.
