Perfectly normal operation as far as I'm aware.
WOW! Aren't you smart!! The "fading" is about fuel efficiency, and is by design. That part of my instrument display is shaded by my steering wheel, so I normally don't see it. Thank you for sharing your wisdom with us.

Here is a clip from the 2014 LS460 Owner's Manual

Thanks, Jim, for saving me the task of looking thru the owner's manual .

I drive my car in comfort mode, but didn't realize the light turned off while the vehicle was stopped. It's great to know my car is operating as designed!

No no no, that thing is toast. Blue light means the vehicle must be replaced.... Glad it was nothing.

I think I was one of the first members to say hello to AC when he first came to our dark side, so I believe that would place me, rank-wise, ahead of you Greg. So I have first dibs! C'mon AC, lets be fair now...
Very glad this issue wasn't anything to worry about. I mean, who needs a dealership when you have CL!

CRowe, you keep it honest. Too many folks like you, and they will have to shut down this forum!

Interesting. I actually noticed that yesterday! I thought it was normal too, along the line of "efficiency theory"

I did have trouble starting the car last week after leaving it at a detailer's place for 1 week. It was jumped and i was actually surprised at the complexity of "resetting" the car computer loading phase. Anyway, that worked, and i didn't have any further issue. Left on trip on 21st and was worried. Car started fine yesterday (26th) I will have lexus dealership check the battery out this coming friday. Btw comotiger, mine is 2014 SWB obsidian AWD. Hope the similarities does not include similar problems!

Pardon my ignorance, but once in Sports mode, does the LS really have an ambient 'red"? Thanks for the sentiments AC...now in "keeping it honest" I'd like to say the following: I'd like to have your LS!

The blue light turns red and stays red, so there's that.

My wife's CT200H does this too. When you place it in "sport mode" the ambient and dash lights turn red. The other modes (normal and ECO), they go blue.

Hi CRowe, I appreciate your candor. Ask me again in 10 years!!

So, I was able to confirm that the operation of the blue light depends upon the Eco-friendliness of my driving, as detailed in the manual. I never paid attention to this little "gauge" in the display showing whether my driving was within the eco-friendly range. Within this range, the blue light is on. Exceed this range, and the light goes away. Incidentally, the eco-gauge is turned off when the vehicle is in the "Sport" mode, for obvious reasons

Driving in Eco-friendly range

Driving outside Eco-friendly range: higher RPM (shame on me!!)

The dark side beckons! Sport+ Mode (Eco OFF)

It's almost as if the car in the red mode is saying to the driver: "Stop driving so aggressively! It's bad for your gas mileage!" LOL

Or, signifying the naughty deeds that can be the result of more aggressive driving given the "sport" feel!
