Default LS460 self parking too far away from curb

I have 2011 LS460 with self parking option. After the parallel parking is done, the car always parked to far away from curb like more that 18 inchs. I test self parking with another 2010 LS460 and that was fine.

Do I need to send to dealer to adjust anything?

Thanks

Initially I've played around with my '10 LS self parking and it would vary from parking to close or far away from the curb. Not worth the time and effort plus it's outdated. The next generation LS should be completely self parking. My daughter's Ford Fusion is completely self parking and makes parallel parking fun, accurate and effortless.

I think '11 LS still should do the basic parallel parking properly. I never get it park too close and it is always too far. I tried another '10 LS and it parked fine

I haven't used the function in my '07 since '07, but when I did I found that the key was properly placing the green box. I played around with it for a while and got very good at it. However, I found it to be more of a parlor trick at the time to entertain friends and family. Driving in the Boston area, the 15 seconds it took to use the function meant some wiseacre with a Prius drove in and took the space!

The car is kind of at the mercy of the cars it's parking around; as it can't really see the curb properly. I find that the perspective distortion of the green box makes it tough to position it sometimes.

The system in the new Prius is vastly improved; so I'm guessing some flavor of it will be offered. I don't know anybody who really uses this. The Tesla Autopark is completely hands and feet off (it will pull forward and straighten the car if you are backing up) but again nobody I know who has one uses it regularly.

Are the latest systems as good as a fairly competent human parallel parking a car? Do they stop working or sound a warning if they think the space is too small? I know many of us can parallel park into a space with a foot to spare on each end. I haven't tried this with my LS460L though . I would probably find a really spacious spot and not be wondering about who is dinging my car.

park it yourself.

only real feature you need on top of the standard stuff is the mark levinson sound.

I think most of the LS owner are very picky and attention to detailed like me. I want to find why other LS auto park works better than mine. I will provide detail pic later

Practicing regularly helps so why use the self parking when it's faster and easier to parallel park the big LS without using it. Do many LS owners actually use the self parking? The LS system a joke in my opinion. The newer cars self parking features is much better and it can completely park and exit effortlessly.

As nospinzone said..."parlor trick". I never use it except when someone says..."oh oh!!! Show me how this car parks itself!!!". And then says "COOL!!" afterwards, while everyone in a car behind me is impatiently waiting..
