Default Cross Country Road Trip

My wife and I are heading out tomorrow to do last minute road trip across the country. We are leaving Ma and heading down to New Orleans, then over to see our son in Texas for a few days. From there I am thinking I want to see the Grand Canyon and head out to California. Would like to go up the coast to San Fran. Nothing set in stone, just gonna go.

Been to Vegas before. Lots of walking, and I don't drink or gamble. Was something to see, and glad I went, but once was enough for me.

How are you going to fit all the luggage on the Hayabusa?

Sounds like fun. Have a great trip. Check in occasionally with some pics.

Gotcha, been there done that, not for you Thought you haven't been, and figured it's nearby on your trip. Anywho! Safe Travels, I'm sure you'll have a comfortable one.!
One tip me and my friends learned while driving multiple states, is we grab a bag of your preferred sunflower seeds and an empty cup.... crack and spit away... this helps us stay awake and we can drive for far longer than without it. Good luck!

Are you taking your pet (dog) along? If you are, I am sure s/he will appreciate the space and comfort in the back seat of your LS

Safe travels, and look forward to seeing pics of your LS in interesting locations!

Nice, sounds like an adventure.

I would recommend Hwy 1 or the Pacific Coast Highway from LA to SF. Amazing drive and tons of scenery if you get the opportunity.

Sounds like something I'd like to do when I retire. I'd probably rent a car though to save from all the miles. If you're gonna do Nawlins' come on down to Memphis on the way. If you want things to do and stuff to see, there's tons of it here. Of course if you like music, then you are covered from Elvis and Graceland to blues on Beale Street.

Have fun!

Enjoy your road trip and your LS will be a comfortable vehicle to go in. Gas prices are still low (regular about $1.90 in my area) and will vary plus the LS gets decent gas mileage for a full size sedan. WV, TN, and KY are very scenic.

Enjoy the road trip. Just got back from taking mine to NJ from FL and back. Nothing like a long road trip in the LS. It performed flawlessly, and gas mileage was great.

If you do end up going up the famed PCH or Hwy 1, tons of wineries everywhere once you get near Santa Barbara. Big Sur is amazing. Stop by Monterey and check out the aquarium or ride one of those cheesy, but still fun glass-bottomed boats, I do every time I go lol. Pebble beach, Carmel, Santa Cruz. It's endless. Then head to Napa Valley and Calistoga.

Heck, drive all the way to Portland Or, another cool place. I use to go there a lot. Then drive east from there through the Sawtooth mountains in Idaho, the northern route back to MA.

Even if you don't drink, it's worth it.

Looking forward to it. I've taken the LS on several trips. Last year drove from SC to Ma straight through no sleep. 16+hrs and I felt pretty good at the end.

I did the trip to Texas a couple years ago in a Chevy Cobalt with no AC. I was suicidal at the end. lol Hate that car. It was my son's and we delivered it to him.

No pets, no kids. Just me and the old lady. We do pretty good on road trips. Last time I went to Memphis I went to Central BBQ. Talk about hot. I learned the difference between dry rub and wet that day. HAHA Was glad I was armed too. I don't travel without my Glock 27.

Bringing my Verizon Mifi for streaming music, and laptops, I keep an AC/DC Invertor in the center console to charge things, so I have the road trips down. I'll be sure to post up what pics I can.
