Was wondering.. Do you notice in symptoms related to the warping? Pulsations when braking or anything else?
Pulsation when braking, that's the only symptom.

Every Lexus I have ever had has had warped rotors.

Glazed not Warped

SW15LS, this is why you should be sold on Cryo Drilled rotors. Calls to Frozen and StopTech revealed the cryo process addresses the drilled rotor' weaknesses. It doesn't make sense to keep going back to the people who sell you the "glazed rotor kit". Lexus should look, run, and stop well. Stopping should be its best feature.

No I agree, I'm going to upgrade to better rotors I'm just still trying to figure out what the best rotors are...lots of conflicting info out there. I've read reports of even the cry drilled rotors cracking...

A couple of good slams on the brakes from high speed can usually clear pulsation right up.

That being said $950 is insanity. IIRC I pay $150ish fora pair of rear rotors, about $60 for pads and $230 for labor for an LS. Last I checked those pad sensors cost a fortune though.

All that being said this is a ridiculously easy DIY job.

I'm a big fan of Stoptech 2 piece slotted rotors, I've been using them for years on my FD and will be installing them on my LS soon. The video below is a good synopsis of differences.

So all in all $950-1050 wouldn't be horrible to do all four corners including rotors at dealer? I can afford it no problem, the next well regarded alternative (Davenport Motor) isn't much cheaper.

Those sensors are seriously a pain in the ***. Is it protocol for any Lexus service advisor to let someone know about these things before they need replaced? If not at last service then at the last visit (RR Air shock replacement) someone could have told me about this upcoming issue.

Are you talking about the sensors that the TireRack sells for $30 (Lexus uses 2/car)?

$950 is beyond ridiculous for just the rear. $500 at the most is what you'll want to pay to get either front or rear replaced.
I replaced my front brake pads and rotors for less than $200 about 2 months ago, but it was a DIY and took about 30-45 minutes a side.
But yes, those sensors are a travesty. Just make sure you replace the pads a bit sooner than one normally would so that you don't hit the sensors.

So we're talking about the wear sensor that looks like this:

3. http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-FACTORY-...JWw7gN&vxp=mtr

...or this $32 one?

Of course they do!

That's why most of us don't go anywhere near a dealer, except as a last resort. Same with the CA's they sell for 4k dollars that can be had for 1/10th that price elsewhere.

CA's are a big enough job I'd have them done at Davenport vs Dealer.

Final quote
$1,050 for all four corners.

Not too bad and I'll have more time to prepare for the next time around.
