People are so afraid of high mileage cars. I’ve owned Old early 1990’s ls400 with close to 300K and it’s leaking oil everywhere on the motor, albeit minor leaks from lack of maintenance. But a Old beat car, that cannot be killed! Drives everywhere, everyday! And they are so impeccably reliable, and still smooth as butter!

so yes, I’d much rather have that 2007 LS460 with 200k plus miles that is way nicer, and way newer! And will run out like a dream!

200k Miles is low miles on any modern Lexus, or even an older Lexus!

A 200k ls460 can be had used for around $8,000 bucks! If it is well maintained, why NOT??

Ive seen to many V8 LS430’s for sale with almost 500k miles on them, and there being sold by a dealer!

It’s a premium car, with a big following, and a even BIIGGER reputation to hold up!!!

BUY IT!

The problem I have is here in NC, (Greensboro) My Bank, (BOA) won't hook me up with an older 2007 LS460 if it has over 100K miles on it.

You have a good point. A couple years ago I talked to a guy who runs a used car place, told him I was thinking about selling my car and if he could sell it for me. He said, they're great cars, but it's a nine year old car with 150k on it. People can't get loans for it. At that time it was probably worth 13k-14k. And he said, yeah it's worth that much but my customer base are people that need financing, until your car drops down to the 8k range, you'll miss out on most clientele.Made sense. I still own the car...probably never will sell it.

Yeah, the banks are limited for a used car. 10 years and 100K miles. So, for me to get a 2007 model, I'd have to reach under the mattress and get a few stacks and pay cash.

I’m in NC, me and my wife are financing a 2007 ls460 tomorrow, it has 211k miles.State Employees Credit Union! 4.75% rate at 60 months. We are thrilled!

Average banks, will not touch cars close to 100k, and even if they do.. albeit at a higher rate, and very short term!

Though, NCSECU is great to finance with, they finance vehicle as old as you need. It’s always 4.75%, and they do not care about mileage. They use NADA retail to book the cars out with, and the Lexus we are buying books at $10,900 clean retail. We are only paying $9,000 so no money out of pocket at all! You must know someone to open a ncsecu account for $25 bucks!

My last vehicle financed was a 2008 F250 gas truck, it has 268k miles when I sold it. And payed the lien off. Though, when they financed it it had 235k miles. It’s just a great bank! And we’re very excited to get our ls460, without paying cash, or some crazy interest rate.

We don’t have perfect credit, by any means. And we are not wealthy at all. So we stick to the clean older used Lexus vehicles. They are reliable, and ride incredible.

Also as for the air suspension wearing out...

AVS, or air suspension is NOT available on the LS460. It is optional only on the LS460L.

So, any high mileage LS460 “Short wheel base” SWB does NOT have air shocks.

Lexus LS460 seems to be incredibly reliable, and with 200K miles is really low..and I’d say this is an average MID life on the car. Easily capable of 460K lol. Larger engine, more gears..

im not afraid. I’ll post back with photos tomorrow. Of our mid life ls460 tomorrow evening!

Ah I have found memories of the Grove. They have a coyote of online banks that finance older cars with high mileage. Just Google it.

State Employees Credit Union

“No mileage limit”

”no model year limit”

”all used vehicles are 4.75%apr no matter mileage, age, or if you have a 500 credit score, or a 850 credit score.

Thank you for this...people tend to not believe me when I say, "this is a million mile car".

I'm not joking or exaggerating. I explained to my wife, back in 2004, the new-to-her 2002 RX300 AWD was a half million mile car, easily, and it's likely the last car she'll ever own.

It seems every Lexus built is just crazy reliable.

ES,IS,GS,RX,SC,LS,GX,LX I’m missing some I’m sure.

I’ve seen everything on the market from Lexus in the under $10,000 range.

Any of these cars cars are all over the country for sale with over 400K miles by various dealers in great physical and mechanical condition.

The maintenance aspect has the biggest affect with cars by any manufacturer. But, I feel like there’s something different about Lexus. They really do build a luxury car to last and last!

Most bmw, and Mercedes customers lease the cars. So sure it’ll run great from 0-36000 miles until it’s turned in..

most of all Lexus customers purchase there vehicles, with great loyalty, and there in for the long haul! They also have a extremely good customer service policy. It doesn’t matter how much money you have in the world, you can’t buy a Lexus dealership unless you can provide previous dealership history with a near perfect customer service history several several years prior! Lol.

they are striving to create the best luxury car in the world. And I’d say they have already done it, numerous times..

I never really thought about this, but you guys are right. It's almost a phenomenon due to Toyota's reputation. They make their cars so well, that the clientele able to afford a well used one becomes somewhat if not very limited. I recently looked at some 4Runners for The Warden. I thought, I'll buy her a 2 to 5 year old used one, and save thousands. But the used ones in those years are only 2k to 5k (from what I saw) less than a brand new one! OK, I might be off a bit, but I was surprised at just how expensive the used ones were.

But let's say I buy a brand new one, keep it for 10 years and put 101k miles on it. And say it's worth 15k to 20k. How many people out there can afford 15k without financing? Wow, that really limits my ability to sell it privately. And for me, I have not, and hope I never will trade-in a vehicle. When a dealer WANTS your trade-in, you're getting screwed. Now, when I own a turd that may not make it to the dealer prior to exploding, then I'll trade-in. I'd rather the dealer get a turd than a private party. But I don't tend to let my vehicles get to that condition.

Well, I’m sitting in the drive way of my wife’s customers house “ just waiting” in a borrowed 2009 Ford Taurus from my mother. We are headed to see the high mileage 4th gen right after this. If the car looks good we’re driving it to the bank and buying it.

“Not to thread high jack”

but we are getting our 4th gen ls460 with just under 212k miles on it today. The cars already been held with a deposit.

If if it’s ok with the OP I’ll share photos in this thread.

It doesn’t have air suspension, and it has new Michelin’s strapped to the rims, it list page after page of every oil change, every rear diff fluid change, and every coolant flush since new.
