I've got actuator problems with no lights and can't get it replaced under warranty. Your sound doesn't sound like an actuator. Yours is more clunky. The actuator chirps and clicks - like flipping playing cards.

There is is no road noise turn up the volume and pay attention to the road you will see me slowing down and hear clicking.. it’s not loud but it’s there
Can't hear anything over the engine and road noise.
A failing actuator sounds like this (engine off, windows open, hood open)

Right i I don’t think it’s failing it’s just little noisy the dealer said they would fix it if it gets more loud till 150k I had it written up

So, you can make this better by calibrating the actuator using techstream. Mine does that and gets louder with time. Every couple of months I plug in my techstream and run the calibration procedure. It gets better but does not go away.

hey Guys! I have a 2008 LS 460 and I just got it back yesterday from the dealership. They fixed it free of charge. mind you I bought the car on the 8th of February, from there BMW lot at the same complex. When I bought it the brakes were grabby. I drove it a few days and then a squawking noise started, long story short, found the bulletin on here and took it in. They told me I had about 30 days left and if I had waited it would have cost me 4K. I am very thankful and thank God for the information that on you guys add on the forum.

Well, as the original poster with some news, I thought I'd update this post. Been having a slight and intermittent popping/knocking when applying the brake in slow stop and go traffic. No codes or lights. Took it in today to have this and a couple of other issues looked at before the car runs out of the original 4/50 warranty next month. The dealer diagnosed a bad brake actuator and replaced it. It felt more like a sticking caliper or slide pin but I'm not complaining as long as it gets rid of the noise. Now, if I could only get rid of that Mercedes diesel noise at idle, I'd be a happy camper. Of course, the dealer says "noise is normal - high pressure fuel pump".

i dont think i can do this at home? i wonder what exactly its calibrating

you can also do a full bleed for the actuator using techstream, I found the process on the internet. Dealer wanted $400 to do this...
I did full brake actuator bleeding which reduced the noise by 75% but it came back in couple of months. I discovered that the linear value offset calibration also reduces the noise but is not as exhaustive and messy as full bleed.

thanks for the info, i see i can grab the software online and buy a cable... how are you using it? i also think Lexus should warranty it as part of TSB. i just dont have time to drive back and fourth to dealer. i was hoping to keep this car atleast 200k i baby it enough and there is nothing wrong with it

is this setup going to work?
you can do this at home using the techstream software and cable. It calibrates the linear valve offset. From the main techstream menu, you pick the ABS system and then go to the ECB utility menu then pick linear valve offset. It will take 2 mins to calibrate and your noise will be cut in half. In this process you don’t have to touch the brake fluid, not even open the hood.
