HVAC: Annoying switch to Recirculate mode
I searched to see if anyone else had this complaint and see if there existed a solution. But I have not found anything.
When the ambient is nice and cool, I ride with my car on FRESH mode, with A/C OFF. I find it very pleasant. I switch to RECIRCULATE if a see a smoky vehicle ahead, but otherwise remain in FRESH.
I park my car in my garage so it's generally nice and cool when I get in it. Soon as I crank it up, and notice the setting, the vehicle always automatically has switched to RECIRCULATE.
I find this ANNOYING. Does anyone know how to defeat this?

In my model year there are three modes that are accessible by the main button (don't have to go into any menus) that allows either outside, inside (recirculating) or auto (which senses). I just press the button to switch. I think it switches based on detecting ozone or some other element. Not sure.
On an unrelated note, I wish skunks kicked it automatically to recirculate. While I find the auto mode great in that it detects heavy car exhaust and automatically switches pretty quickly to limit the amount of odor. I wish it did for skunks!
Get on it Lexus: adjust the auto-recirculating feature to detect skunks dangit lol. Dead serious. So many skunks around here. I would rather smell exhaust fumes then skunks.

One day I was messing with buttons in the LS, I held onto the A/C button I believe it was or maybe the auto button... and it brought up a smog menu. I adjusted it to high and the recirculate seems to stay where I left it. Maybe it'll help with what you're needing. not sure...
