Buying a used 2007 or 2010?
Hi guys, they both have about 75k miles, $5k difference in price. 2007 had fuel hose and valve rocker arms replaced. 2010 had fuel pressure device recalled. Now is 2010 likely to have the valve spring / rocker arm problems of 07 08? Talked to the stealership and not recall on 2010 for this problem.
So anyway, which would be a better choice for the long run? I plan to keep it until 200kish miles. Thanks

I was referring to good luck on your purchase. '07 or '10 460 are both good choices but I would think the '10 would have a edge over the '07 simply because it newer. I chose a '10 over a '08 for that reason with no regrets. My '10 460 is the best luxury automobile I have owned.

Whether it's German or Jap cars, it depends on how previous owners took care of them.
But I'd go with newer year, so 2010 would be my choice.

on 2010 I think the driver seat move back when the ignition is off and 2007 doesn't, or is it only 2013 and newer have that function. Can you play music with USB with 2010 yet? 2007 can't.

2010 is first model year Lexus actually moved into the 2000s and added USB (and Bluetooth audio).
To OP, all else being equal, I would strongly lean toward 2010 due to the enhancements above, age, and frankly, being the 4th model year, fewer applicable service bulletins. Look wise, barring 2013+, I have a slight preference for 2007-2009, but the 2010+ enhancements make up for that, IMO.

Welcome. Between the two you want the 2010. More features. You get the bluetooth audio, the usb, turn signals on the back of your side mirrors, minor button changes inside. As for control arms, could still be an issue. The 2011 model was the first to remedy that. However, before you buy, have the car inspected and know up front what your out of pocket expenses would be. Granted, anything can occur with a used car, but an inspection should help. Be sure to find a good Toyota/Lexus mechanic and you'll keep your costs at bay. Great car and you'll love the LS either way you roll.

This is available on the 2010 LS.

I'd go for the 2010, but before you do, consider this...you can probably get the 07 for less than the $19.5 they are asking for. And if you do that you could potentially save $7k compared to the 2010.
You'd have to have a lot of things break to spend $7,000, and if it's well cared for I doubt you'll need to worry. You'll be doing control arms either way, and possibly a brake actuator eithe way as well.

I'd go 2010 as well.
As for the comment about German and Japanese being equal if cared for correctly. Absolutely and completely false. End of story. That's a careless comment. Yes...I speak from extensive and tortured ownership. Those that know me KNOW how obsessive I am with maintenance and care for my vehicles.
