Default Got my DAR trunk spoiler today!

Got my DAR spoiler today. Went for the small version vs. the full size spoiler. I haven't mounted it yet because I'm not sure I'm 100% sold yet but just taped it on there gently with some packing tap. As we know, there aren't many choices for LS 460 trunk spoilers. I've got the strafer pearl so I wasn't expecting perfection with the spoiler paint matching as it's one of the toughest to match...it's actually not bad at all.

But I'm not quite sure about the fitment. I guess the spoiler needs to be mounted a bit higher than I was expecting so that the side tips fit properly. It sits more on top of the trunk vs. on the back edge...which is fine, just wasn't really sure what to expect when trying to fit it on there. There is definitely a sweet spot that one must take their time finding. And please keep in mind that the spoiler isn't stuck on there yet, I've just got a couple of strips of packing tape holding it in place.

At any rate, here are some photos and I'd appreciate any feedback as far as fitting it properly goes. I want to make sure the one I received isn't defective. How much effort should go into getting the end tips to seat correctly? I bolted a spoiler onto my 09 Camry a few years back and that one fit perfectly. I just don't know what to expect with the LS.

Looks nice!

You can always ask the dealer or body shop to do it if you're uncomfortable. There are many "speciality" body shops that aren't necessarily collision centers but more aftermarket installation types. Search Yelp or the web. Probably be fairly cheap just for the labor.

Other than that, I've never done it myself.

Looks nice and subtle

Usually these trunk spoilers are mounted with double sided 3M tape.

But looking at it from the pictures, it seems like there might be some stress points on the edges of the spoiler to the side. I don't know if the style of the spoiler is supposed to bend on the sides toward the trunk or not. If it wasn't specifically made for the 460, then I wouldn't install it, maybe it's a generic size spoiler.
Maybe ask the person who you bought it from to look at the pictures of the fitment, maybe they can compensate you or help you out.

But if it was for the 460, then you might need something more than 3M tape to keep those edges down.

Car looks awesome with the spoiler! I'm hoping the fitment of the DAR products are good, I just ordered a trunk spoiler and roof wing for my LS. Please keep us posted on the fitment. Thanks in advance!

I have a DAR roof spoiler and the fitment was very good. It is very similar in style to the Wald roof spoiler

Very nice looking. Check out local body or repair shops. I'm sure they do this type thing in their sleep.

Looks nice, I had mine on for a couple months before adhesive started to lift so I just took it off. I have the same combo in my driveway. Wife drives Prius and I get the LS.

I don't like it mainly because of how it is at each end. Looks like it belongs on another car. It doesn't follow the angle of the trunk.

I'm not so sure I have it positioned correctly on the trunk. I'll have to double check. DAR makes their spoilers for each specific vehicle so the fitment should be perfect. I didn't have a lot time when I took these pics so I'll take a look again tomorrow.

Yes, I agree. It does look like a universal unit I've seen on Ebay etc.
