Default buying Florida ls460 for california

So ca emission standard is high. I just read that under hood it should state that if vehicle is operable in state of ca or not.
Dealer didn't have a clue and said there's no way to know this.

What do I need to do to make sure this car will pass smog in ca?
It's 2007 and passed FL smog.

No problem as long as the car has more than 7500 miles. It's OK to bring in used 49-state cars, just not "new" ones (where "new" is under 7500 miles or 2 years).

From searching this forum, it appears Lexus vehicles have been 50-state certified since the late '90's. It's likely the car will pass the CA smog test since it's apparently been well-maintained.

From a fee perspective, you will pay extra for bringing an out-of-state vehicle into California. See this calculator:

https://www.dmv.ca.gov/FeeCalculator...esidentForm.do

Ideally, you would have considered this and shipping costs (if applicable) when pricing the vehicle.

Just make sure to get photos of the underside and inside the engine bay to make sure there is no corrosion.

I bought a 99 LS400 from Iowa in 2013 and had no problem smogging and registering...expect to pay CA sales tax once your register it though.
