Default Outside Temperature Reading Problem

My 2008 LS 460 had a properly working temperature sensor until I had the ELF Recall and Detail Waxing done. When I picked up my car, the temp read 75° when my iPhone said 99° They told me the recall or detail had nothing to do with the sensor not working, but they replaced it for me at N/C. When I drove off the lot the dash read 81° I brought it back and the car's been there another day.
I called them the next day and they say it IS working, but they're gonna keep it for another day to 'make sure' They say I have to drive to warm up the car to have it work, but when I drive out of my garage, the temperature used to adjust immediately.
I would not like to pick up the car when they tell me it's working only to find out it's not.
Anyone know what could be causing this other than the sensor?
Thanx for your help in advance.

Default same...

I have the same problem, anyone know where the sensor is at? Sometimes it's very hot outside, but my temp reads that it's in the 60 range.

The sensor is inside the front bumper low on the driver's side. Normal charge for replacement is $100.00 if it is the sensor that's the problem.

I have some kind of sensor hanging around in the area. I think the clip holding it somewhere broke. I placed it between this spot. .. maybe it's getting inaccurate readings due to its new location I placed it. I'm going to try and find it's original spot.
Thanks for your reply
