Post Ls 460 2008 engine compartment

I'm a new owner to this 2008 LS 460. Anybody have any tricks on how to EASILY remove the engine cover rivets--mine are not popping up without ripping them up. Not seeing anything on Youtube that cover this. Love to see a video and some get some pictures of the engine without the covers. I'm trying to access the engine filters--those are not covered much in the Owner's Manual. PHOTOS or VIDEOS ANYBODY? DO POST!!! Thanks in advance!

It's easy. All you do is push DOWN on the center part of the rivet. That releases the rivet and all you need to do is pop it off with a screwdriver. Be prepared to replace some....they tend to go flying and end up somewhere out of reach. I order replacement bags of 20 or more at a time on Ebay for a couple of bucks.

Oh this is good info Road. I never thought to order those rivets on ebay. I am missing several. (Lexus wanted $10 for a small bag.) I'll head there now! Thanks for that tip! Sweet!

Ok, I looked on ebay and this is one of the listing I found. Is this it?

Those look like they may work, but the part number is off by a bit and so are the dimensions. These are the ones I get ( part number is: 90467-07211)

http://www.ebay.com/itm/20Pcs-Car-Grille-Bumper-Push-Type-Retainer-Clip-For-Lexus-Toyota-90467-07211-/311331145709?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_2&hash=item487cc847ed&vxp=mtr
You get 20 for about 2.50 with free shipping.

Awesome thanks. Now are those the smaller ones or the bigger ones? I notice two sizes under the hood.

The ones I quoted are smaller, but work on all the covers under my hood.

Ordered! That's an insane price. I would have paid $10 for 2 of them at the dealership. Wow! Thank you.

I believe there is a law that such things have to land in inaccessible places.

I have a long flexible retriever with a magnet at the end, another with retractable claws, and yet another with an LED light at the end, and I STILL lose stuff down there somewhere.

I probably have ten of these clips sitting somewhere along my radiator support

Thanks...seems some of mine don't PUSH DOWN very easy or at all. Will have to stock some up however. And getting to my main problem of getting to the engine filters looks like I ONLY HAVE TO easily remove the center cover with Lexus logo and there they are! Lifts off pretty easy.
