Question need help A/C not working
I have 08 460 I got in today and turn on the air and it blows hot. Made sure the AC button was in and it was. So I left car running had someone push the AC button and the compressor doesn't turn! CL help it's getting hot
Hey. I actually did a fair amount of a/c engineering work with Hyundai ... so maybe I can help.
I'm going to assume your system does have a problem because the compressor should run I believe regardless of the temp set. I will tell you 95% of the time that a/c problems are due to low refrigerant levels. If your vehicle's refrigerant level is low, there is a sensor that detects low pressure and will turn off the compressor ... to protect the compressor. It uses lubricant that travels with the refrigerant to lubricate and cool the compressor.
Low refrigerant may not be the cause, but it is likely. When your car cools off, have someone crank it and turn the a/c on and see if the compressor will start. If its just somewhat low, normally it will start but turn back off in short order.
