Default So I purchased some Akebono Brakes...

And I haven't had a chance to take it into the shop and the censor is now going off. Does that have to be replaced? If so does anyone have a link for me to get some new ones? How many will I have to order?

I also need to get my transmission fluid changed. Can I purchase that online as well?

are you talking about the censor that triggers the ''Brake Pad Wear" alert in the info display?

If so, once tripped, yes you need to replace that. I had to do the same.

part # is 4777050080 for my 2008 LS460, but you'd want to confirm for your VIN.
$95.52 on Sewell Lexus Parts with the CL discount. What a pain in the ***... but the dealership wanted $180!

Do a search. I believe Roadfrog posted a much cheaper alternative.

You are correct. I don't want to pay for the OEM, there must be a cheaper product.

Good job!

Question, do I need to buy 4 of these things or just 1?

Question 2:

Are they simple to install or should a dealer install them?

I believe there is one for the front and one for the back...be careful when you order them to be sure you are getting the right ones...they shouldn't be hard to install.

How in the world do I determine which one went off?

Each wheel has a sensor. One way to find out would be to take off the wheels and see which sensor is touching the rotor.

Yea, that's out of my area of expertise. LOL

So, the best bet would be to buy one of each. Front and back.

All this stuff is so confusing to me.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Disc-Brake-Pad-Wear-Sensor-CARLSON-19055-fits-07-14-Lexus-LS460-/400818203280?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Make%3ALexus%7CModel%3ALS460&hash=item5d52a06a90&vxp=mtr
With that link I provided. On the left hand side they indicate that you may only need one of these things?

I wish someone could give me a solid answer.
