Techstream Question
Loaded it on an older laptop with XP-Pro operating system, and the interface loads without error.
Trying to connect to the car is a different story.
When I run the "cable test" (working from memory here - may not be an exact description of the menu choice), the tests for 12v+ and 12v- come back green - everything else is red.
I'm wondering if I've got a bad cable, or maybe I should try a different USB port on the laptop (this unit is so old it may actually have a USB1.1 port as well as USB2.0).
Anyone encountered this error before and if so, what was the solution path?
Appreciate any suggestions.
When I plug the cable into the laptop, it sounds the USB recognition tone, and the device appears under the "Universal Serial Bus controllers" list in the Device Manager:
If I select the item from the list and browse to the driver details, this is what I see:

Booted up the PC and turned the car on (two presses of the start button).
Once the Techstream interface came up, I selected Connect to Vehicle - this is the display that results:

After about 20 seconds, the PC beeps and this button appears at the bottom of the screen (sorry for the rotated image):

Clicking on it does nothing. Right-clicking opens this menu (sorry for the rotated image):

Selecting Close causes the Connect screen to disappear, and Techstream is locked up at that point. Clicking anywhere on the interface returns a Beep. Have to use Task Manager to kill the application.
Starting Techstream again, using the Cable diagnostics, I get this far:

After waiting about 4 minutes at this screen, this message appears:

When you click OK - Techstream closes.
Here's the version of the software:

I tried manually connecting, specifying Lexus, LS460, 2007 Model year. After the engine field is selected, the manual selection screen just closes.
I've tried the cable in different USB ports on the PC with the same results.
I'm thinking about trying an earlier version of Techstream...
Any other suggestions?
However, as I noted previously, this is installed on a 32-bit XP box, so I fail to see how X64 installation instructions will be of use.
Regards
