Dealer Experience/feedbacks ABS actuator
Hi fellow members,
my 08 ls460 has been having these ABS+VSC+brake light and Traction control lights coming on, they will turn off after a day or two but now the brakes are so grabby and C1345 & C1368 are present and lights wont turn off.
I've scheduled an appointment tomorrow at PARK PLACE LEXUS in Grapevine Dallas TEXAS; considering my car has less than 150k miles (119k NOW), would the dealer budge and replace it under the enhanced program with Lexus?
Has anyone got the ABS actuator replaced after the 10 year period on a good faith by a dealer? or does anyone have an experience with grapevine park place lexus. service department. what are other alternative routes I should follow to have this resolved. please advise.
Thanks all for your help and response in advance.

If you gently but persistently bug them enough, telling sweet things like 'Lexi only in my family, mister, sir, thank you for your service', they actually might. I have no personal experience with Grapevine Dallas, TX, but there is that program that encourages dealers to do it as a 'goodwill/customer loyalty' job.

How old is the brake fluid? Have you had it flushed within the last 5 years?

oil change and filter and filter adapter for $498 and $3800 more for rear shocks.
I try to ask him if they can do it for $2200 and his response was more rude than professional, so I’m just trying to see if I can get the part cheaper that $1700 and I have a shop that can do it for $400 labor.
any inputs where I can get an OEM part #04003-45450 with warranty. For less than 2k.
any help is appreciated.

You gotta find a good independent mechanic that knows Lexus vehicles…

the brake fluid is clean, I haven’t flushed it since I got the car last August, I just came back from the dealer and he quoted me $4200 to have it done and also saying, I need the main fuse box and added $4000 more of extra work such as, oil change and filter and filter adapter for $498 and $3800 more for rear shocks. If I were you, before replacing the brake actuator, I'd flush the brake system with new brake fluid and see if the brake actuator's function can be revived after the flushing. To properly flush the brake system (including the brake actuator), use Techsteam and perform the "Brake Actuator has been replaced" procedure. Often, a dirty brake actuator can be revived with this procedure. If that doesn't work, then replace the brake actuator. The part price you got from your dealer is way too high. Below is the same parts with much lower price on Longo Lexus website (www.longolexus.com):
Brake actuator assembly (part number 44050-50110, which replaces 44050-50090, 44050-50130): $1,044.87
Fuse Relay Engine Room Junction Block (part number 82720-50081): $268

I don't have experience with Snap on scanner/tools and can't answer your question. I have been using Techstream with a VXDIAG VCX NANO OBD2 connector on Lexus/Toyota cars and the VXDiag nano OBD2 connector works well. VXDiag nano connector came with 64-bit driver that works seamlessly on Windows 10 & 11 laptop computers and can write information (like TPMS sensor ID's) to ECUs (it supports bidirectional communication) in addition to reading and clearing trouble codes. My preferred versions of Techstream are 16.x.x.x or 17.x.x.x

Top tier Snap-on's tools are well capable of doing ABS jobs on LS (with according subscription level). But I always prefer IT2 or Techstream for that.

The shop where I work at, has a master tech that is really knowledgeable and have done this job on a Prius, which I believe similar to the LS Abs bleeding procedure if not the same and he has a fully updated snap on scanner that cost 8k and was used to do the Prius. I get discount on labor but not oem parts, I’m quoted $2300 to do it at my work place.
