Default Engine turns off when idling

This just recently started happening that after a few minutes at idle in park the engine turns off. I did install a DBALL remote start last fall but thats runs until the door is opened but the car wasn't started with the remote nor the door opened.Any ideas?

Since you mentioned the remote start, that is where I would look. I don't know if this thread might be helpful

Otherwise you should take it to the dealer as that sounds like a serious safety issue.

Just sounds like a low idle speed forcing it to cut off. Take it to the dealer.

Seems like when the key fob is out of the car it turns off in about a minute. Sat in running car for 45 min after I started it and moved to back seat and kept running. When got out of car it turned off. Is there a setting for this?

You need to either turn off EIPS or change the timeout in the DBALL configuration software. This is a setting of the DBALL for sure.

Correct, EIPS is kicking in when the key fob is out of the car. You can set the time interval from 1-3 minutes.

EIPS is a function of the DBALL that shuts the car down IF the key fob is out of the car, to prevent accidental starts and the car runs in the garage and emits carbon monoxide. If the key is in the car, it will continue to run.

OLD thread but it's the only thing I found with EIPS and Dball after searching forever.

On the Directed remote start module that I found for Lexus it has 4 wires that you would connect the one harness to. One of them is marked with EIPS. If this wire is NOT connected would that mean that if the key is out of the vehicle it would not automatically shut off?

Thanks much,
-Nigel
