Your youtube link doesn't work.
The average owner of the LS is in his/her 60's. Part of the reason is that it's a flagship sedan that few young buyers can afford. The other reason is that it's not a particularly flashy car (the way the IS may look). What I would say is that he should drive the car to make sure he likes it. He should drive it the way he normally drives, and make sure it's not too floaty for him. If he likes the drive, then I'd go for it. It's still the best engineered Lexus short of the LFA. Every LS460 still gets a dedicated engine CT scan, stethoscope exam, and gets road tested. Toyota still sees the LS as their flagship.
Then, if you're in Los Angeles (and not Louisiana), he has to make sure he budgets for a professional paint correction. Part of the reason that the LS looks like an "old man's car" is that more-often-than-not, LS's on the road aren't taken care of cosmetically (except for the LS's on Club Lexus). The average IS or GS on the road gets more attention (because of younger owners).
I haven't even tinted my LS460 yet, but I'd argue that it looks like a car fit for a 20-30 year old once it's been detailed.

If he's going with the 2013+, then no question, it's fine. It's far more aggressive looking than the previous generation.
But he should budget out $1k for some professional paint correction.
The guys at http://www.showcardetailing.com/ do a good job in Socal.

If he wants it and he can afford it, why the heck not???
It's a rock reliable vehicle. Far better than 80% of the other vehicles out there that people his age seem to gravitate to!
Or is there a specific thing you are concerned with? (ie: maintenance costs, safety).....

I've been buying cars for almost 50 years. I never cared what anyone else thought about the car, the color, the options, or whether it was appropriate for me. I would advise your friend to think the same way. In the end it is his own pleasing that matters.
P.S.
One exception, when I was a young man I did care about my father's opinion.

Honestly, I'm sort of surprised. While I love my LS460, I would think that if I could afford a 100K dollar car at 25, I would have myself a GTR. But thats just me being honest. But if he is into the LS, more power to him. Probably save him a TON in tires and tickets.

I just turned 22 and i'm on my second LS!
The LS460 is everything he would ever want in a car for a young person including ample acceleration and comfort in one package.
