That's the experience I had with all of the dealerships in our area. They play games and are looking for useful idiots. When you don't play games but are still polite they get aggravated because they know where it's going which is out the front door. I also found that if the deal is not made they become rude as some kind of tactic to make you think you don't deserve the car you are buying.
I didn't have an alternative except for private party but even that gets really weird these days.
