A/C Seat question
I've been into 3 Lexus 460's with the cooled seats but when on you barely feel the cooling effect...I've read that changing the Air filter in the seats may fix this, has anyone else experienced this?

How old is the car? I am on my second LS 460 and have had no issues with either car. The first one was almost 4 years old when I replaced it with the second LS that is now a year old.
I am not sure if the air filter is user replaceable or not. Time to read the manual!

There's a couple of threads that discuss this issue. Seems that most say there is no air filter under, etc. the seats on our ls460, they couldn't find it.
Also the "cooled" seats seems to be a misnomer or Lex marketing hype, they are really more like ventilated seats. I've read some say that if you activated the pollen filter AC button you can feel the effect a little more.
The heated effect works much better.
For me, my experience has been the same as the OP for my 08 ls460.

The LS460 seats are actually cooled by more than just recirculated air. They use thermoelectric-based cooling and heating similar to a solid-state cooler.
The following site used to list Lexus but the company has since been bought and no longer provides this detail. It used to have a diagram of the Lexus seat showing the thermoelectric plate.

Some posts claim that the AC needs to be on for the seats to cool to the max. It is also important to not have anything blocking the back of the seat at the bottom as that is where the heat is exhausted (and not a good place to put the ice cream on a grocery shopping trip).
