Default LS460 seats in a LS430?

Ok guys I've seen the posts about the 430 not having comfortable seats due to being too soft and I can agree. I test drove an LS460 today and was surprised how different the seats were and how much more support they have. I love my 430 but the seat kills me! It is too soft and doesn't provide the support I need. The 460's seat had the right support in the right place. It was perfect. My question is has anyone tried to use the newer 460 seats in a 430? Does anyone know if this can be done relatively easily?

Each LS that I've owned (several LS430s, one LS460) has had a "soft" driver's seat. Each time I had the driver's seat cushion rebuilt/repadded by an experienced auto upholstery shop. The difference is night and day. I just had this done on Monday on my recently-acquired '05 LS430. Cost: $99 + tax.

They're probably too soft for driving, but take my word, they're just right for sleeping in the car.

Wow that's not a bad price at all. Can you post any pics of your seat with the upgraded cushion? How is the heated and cooled seat option now? Thanks for the reply!

That might not benefit me as I drive my car a bit more than I sleep in it

I'm out of town but I'll post pics when I return later this weekend.

But the heating and cooling functions work just fine!

The seat looks good. They did a nice job. Mine is finally starting to collapse and it may be time to get a quote on having it restored...

Mine feels like I can drive to the other end of the island with ease (about a 500 mile journey), and I have a dodgy back and can't really do long drives in most cars. But trust me, going from a hard leather Recaro (in my old Mondeo) to a lounge armchair is absolute bliss.

I need to get the seats on my 02 rebuilt or replaced. They feel terrible.

My 05's seats are nice but I will look into rebuilding them.

Looks like they didn't even touch it! Very nice. I was worried it would look all pushed up.

When I had an LS400, there were a few LS400 members that replaced their drivers seats with seats from an LS430. Apparently, the seats bolted right in. I am not sure about the power seat plugs. That said, I wouldn't count on it.
