Just took a long road trip from Los Angeles to Kansas City in my 07 LS with 95,000 miles on it and recorded some good mileage readings. On one tank I got 31mpg and on another 30mpg - I thought this was pretty good considering my speed was 70-80mph most of the time.
My first car was a 1968 VW Bug and I was lucky to get 26mpg and I can't recall that car ever going over 75mph (maybee with a hurricane behind me). I thing the Bug was rated at 56hp, a fraction of the 380hp of the LS, and half the weight.
Yes indeed! I also took a trip fro SJ to SD and doing like 80-90's and still gets good mileage. Great car and great handling at a high speed plus comfort.
I got similar mileage readings on a recent 5K trip, 22 states, 3 weeks. We set the cruise control 2 mph below the speed limit, giving 31.6 on one tank. The worst tank was 26, and that included driving in town. Plus, driving just a bit below the speed limit is much less stressful - everybody passes me. It's right lane most of the time.
Yesterday I finally took my LS for 600 mile ride, the first tank got 27 mpg doing 75-85 mph 90% of the time, the second tank I got 30 mpg with slower speed 60-75 mph. Can't complain
To be able to drive over 500 miles a tank on the highway in some cases is simply amazing for a car with damn near 400hp..we really have it pretty good

I average about 21 mpg combined after my 22's wbu? I get at best 23-24 highway MPG but we have up and down highways no real straight roads and I always drive 75.
