Great job, bud!! I was blown away by all the stuff you did. Like you said, you can tell the difference, and that's all that counts.

So can you estimate how much would a detailing shop would charge for the same work-doing all you did, materials plus labor? I am guessing $600!

Ooooo, I've never done this for a living (well, first job at 15 was prepping cars for delivery at a body shop....) but I would imagine with the amount of work I did you would need to at least double that number. If I could have the same work done, to the same level that I did it, for $600, I'd pay that all day versus keeping materials and tools on hand then burning my time. 14 hours on a weekend is certainly worth more than $50/hr to me.

I would definitely be curious to know, if we have any professional detailers around here, what they would charge for that service. Would be nice to have a number to give family members when they inevitably ask me to do theirs

Ha ha. I was going to ask if you could do my car next...

You should pose the question to Zach over in the Detailing forum.

Thanks! It was a ton of work but well worth it.

This is the second Speed Clay I've purchased, makes the process super quick and if you drop it, you can just pick it up and spray/wipe it off. Good as new.

Thanks. The chrome is wrapped. The only part I didn’t like was how the door handles turned out. I will end up getting those painted instead. As for the taillights, they are sprayed. I had rear taillights tinted on a previous car and over time in the heat it discolored and looked awful. Second car that I have had the taillights sprayed and have been really pleased with the results.
