Diogenes, are you saying your 2010 has a tire pressure monitor that shows which pressure goes with which wheel?

I have a 2012 LS 460L and the tire pressure readings on the dash don't look any different to what they were on my old 2008 LS 460.

That's what I thought. My guess is that Diogenes misunderstands that three are two levels of information at issue here: the ability to know 5 tire pressures AND to know which reading goes with which wheel position. And that prior to the 2013 model, the second point of info was not available.

I know for sure that the first number at the top is the spare tire.

Not at all for sure. It's only "for sure at the top" from the factory until someone rotates it.

I don't know about the 2013 model but on he earlier models each wheel has an RF transmitter that sends tire pressure along with an ID that is unique to each wheel. Each of the display positions correlate to one of the wheel IDs and displays pressure for the corresponding wheel. No matter where you move a wheel it will still display at the same position on the display. So, the top display does not necessarily correspond to the spare.

That's exactly correct. Prior to 2010, for sure, and probably all LS460/600 cars prior to 2013, the display was vertical, and any wheel could be in any position depending on which tire was rotated where. You would know from the display that you had a low tire, but you would not know which one it was unless you actually checked the tires with a gauge (obviously a seriously low tire would be easy to eyeball without the gauge...but a "merely somewhat" low tire would require checking with a gauge)

The 2013 model, however, has the numbers displayed on a small "pictorial" map of a car. With five positions. So you know instantly that the passenger rear (for instance) tire is low. Unfortunately dad (new 2013 LS) lives out of town and I should have taken a photo of the display but can't do it now. Maybe someone else would be so kind.

Anyway, assuming Diogenes misunderstands the issue, the 2013 is the first year with this improvement (versus the 2007-2012 LS460/600 cars).
