Timing Chain on LS460
Until a guide fails from embrittlement due to simple age or lazy oil change practices.....or chain stretch. The super long chain engines always see wear/issues way before a belt engine that is changed regularly and some are horrible at it like the 5.4 ford and 3.6 Chevy and any BMW engine and select Mercedes V8s.
The Lexus/Toyota ones don't have nearly as many issues but it's still not like a Chevy/Mopar V8 with a very short chain that is stupid easy to replace in the extremely unlikely event of an issue.

Not necessarily true, My 2007 Ls460 has just come back from the machanic after having a timing chaiin and slippers replaced as chain was stretched, cost me $3,400 and car has only done 60,000 km. Had a real hassle obtaining parts, had to order from Japan and with Covid19 I had to wait 3 months to get them. Only 1 belt was stretched but they did both as normal precedure
You will hear very brief noise upon startup if you leave it sitting for a few days and it won't run right. Varies a little car to car and engine type to type
