Easy fix for squeaky seat
I have a 2007 460L with a 100,000 miles... over the past year or so I've had a seat squeak on my drivers side. The Technical Service Bulletin for the fix came out back in 2008 but seemed elaborate with removing the car seats, cutting off metal guide pins and so on... This past weekend I'd had enough and decided to tackle the project only to find out it was way too simple!
Here's all I did...
- Get a flat head screw driver and 9/16 socket driver
- Move the seat all the way forward
- Use the screw driver to pop off the plastic bolt covers
- Remove the rear bolts
- Move the seat all the back
- Remove the front plastic bolt covers
- Remove the font bolts
- Tilt the ENTIRE seat backwards so you can see the bottom (plenty of slack for wires)
- You will see a guide pin near the bolt holes with a white rubber sleeve - REMOVE IT
- Take the opportunity to vacuum under your seat including the filter for your seat fan
- Lower seat back into position and install all bolts - I made sure mine were extra tight
- Replace plastic bolt covers
- Enjoy the squeak free ride!!
