Default Rear Entertainment System - How to split audio between two sources

Hey Everyone, I recently discovered how to listen to two different sources at the same time in Rear Seat Entertainment Equipped 2007-2009 Lexus LS460/600s. There was discussion about this before and it appeared that nobody had an answer. I went out to the garage one night and played around with the system and figured it out and made a video on how the rear passengers can enjoy watching a DVD or listening to another audio source on the wireless headphones while the rest of the passengers can listen to another source through the vehicle speakers.

This was done after midnight, so it is not a full scale production, but it shows you what to do lol. I have also added this to the DIY sticky at the top of our forum

NO worries, glad to help. I thought about making a new video and showing all the different scenarios between all the sources. Technically if you have the bypass module to allow for DVD viewing and input on the nav screen while in motion, the front passengers can watch a DVD and the rear passengers can listen to XM, HDD, AM, or FM...I am not sure if a DVD and CD can play at the same time...I"m betting not on that. I think the 2010+ RES setups have much more flexibility and a DVD slot on the actual rear screen box iirc.
