LS460(L) Start-up Problem...Please Help
at first they said camshaft wires were pulled out of the connectors an the cam motor on the passenger side upon doing the valley plate leak outside of Lexus I took the car to Lexus that's what they told me so I paid $316.00 to have 5 wires feed back into a new connector got home the same day car still did that samething took it back the next day they put me a loaner for a month they called me 4 days after taking it back said its cylinder 3 fuel injector leaking gas down in the cylinder after the car is turned off for the day that why I'm getting the hard start when I come back to try to start the car again paid $1058.00 got the car back same problem still here they cant find what's wrong none of this happened until everything was unplugged when the valley plate was resealed plugged everything back up problem been here since November of 2019 till now 5/2020 I'm pissed cause a $79,810 car an they cant find what's wrong with it another guy here said his car is doing the exact samething after doing a valley plate leak fix as well he also stated it's hard as hell to start an excessive fuel smell out the exhaust the problem is intermittent does it when the temp needle is almost resting at the C mark after 45 mins to an hour of it sitting its starts so stupid like it's not getting gas like its gasping for air or gas then it starts an just come to life this is very aggravating cause I'm paying for this car an they can find a fix
Many Thanks for posting the link to the TSB
. I didn’t have this problem when I bought the car back in 2008 and it only surfaced beginning of last year 2011. I will print the TSB and take it to the dealer. My car has only 56,000KM (31000 Miles) on it and it was always serviced at the dealer.
The fuel injectors have already been cleaned and the battery changed twice (end of June 2012 and on the first week of August 2012). I left on vacation and the car was in my garage for 30 days and when I returned the battery was totally drained. It didn’t make any sense that a new battery that has been just installed in June 2012 drains that quickly. I took it again to the dealer and the battery was changed again (warranty) on the first week of August 2012. The dealer maintenance engineer tells me that they have checked the car for any electrical issues but couldn’t find any.
I am totally puzzled and hopefully the TSB helps.

Is it clicking when you try to turn it on I just had a problem with that on my 07 LS460 and after I had replaced the battery it ended up being the starter and it totaled around 1,300 USD (at the Lexus dealer) other than that it could be anything else Lexus dealers have thier diagnostics and they can test it and tell you exactly what it is.

no its starts it just some starts like its not getting gas almost when the temp needle is like on the 3rd notch from cold it then starts like its building up fuel pressure then it catches and starts it aggravating tho every since I had the valley plate leak resealed it started doing this when everything was put back together no engine lights or nothing
I totally agree with you man. Its been back to that dealership 6 times they claim they can't find anything. I honestly think that they aren't looking they have all kinda equipment to diagnose these cars since then I haven't been back after they got smart with me I called lexus Corp and made them aware of the situation but they only tell me I still have to bring it back to them to give them a chance to find the problem I said are u kidding me for the 7th time mind u I live in hammond l,la I have to drive all the way to baton rouge,la and I have to take off work everytime I go only to sit in the dealership for 6hrs only to find they can't do nothing
This morning my car started ok. I drove it for about 20 minutes, came home, and couldn't shut the engine off, no matter how I pressed the push-start button. Thinking it's the issue with the push-start button, I swapped the push-start button with my 07 LS460. The button from the 07 didn't help (started the engine ok, but couldn't shut the engine off). The button from my 08 LS460 works well in my 07 LS460. So it's not the push-start button. Any suggestion into the problem? Much Appreciated.

Hi,
Mine is 08 ls460 and doing the same thing, I tried replacing injectors, pump, starter, ignition coils (helped a bit during acceleration) all what I replaced didn't solve the issue.
Next step is to replace push-start button and will keep you guys posted.
Hoping someone did find a solution to this issue.
