Default What Do You Think?

Good evening Club Lexus members! I need some advice. I have a 2004 LS430 with 188,000 relatively problem free miles. I have the new car itch and I have to scratch it. I have test driven the 2010-2012 LS460 and it was a great car. But last week I test drove a 2010 s550 and in my opinion it felt like the big Mercedes was a better car. How anyone driven these two cars and what was your opinion of the two.
I feel like when the the 2001-2006 LS was released, it offered the same, If not more options than the S500 at a lower price. Not the mention class leading reliability. But with the current gen LS I don't think it matches up better than the S550. I hope that when Lexus finally redesigns the LS (the 2013 model is basically the same car with new headlights, taillights, interior and tech) they go back to the drawing board and create a car that capivates the buyer emotionally. Lexus cannot continue to say "our car is more reliable than theirs" but for so long. Car manufacturers are constantly improving in that category. What do you think?

You're comparing a 430 to the first S550. Honestly the first 460 07-09 was better than the 07-09 S550 they were nice cars but so many problems and issues and not enough to justify them.

But when talking about the slightly changed 2010+ models the S550 has surpassed the 460 in technology and power. I mean I barely feel up to date with a S550 in my 600.

When I bought my LS in 2007, I test drove the S550. I found it to be a better handling car. However, when I priced it option for option with my LS, it MSRP'd for a full $25,000 more than the LS. In my mind the better handling not worth that premium. And at that premium, the significantly reduced reliability was a real deal killer.

All have to say is that you probably won't get 188K out of the Benz!! That's coming from a person with both an LS and a Benz

Although I would say go with whichever you like more, but for me personally I just had to get into the crazy power figures that Lexus doesn't offer, at least not yet

^Same, doubt the MB will get you that high in miles without spending thousands and thousands into repair

The resale suffers quite a bit more than the Lexus as well comparable cars
